A nationwide dictation on Mother Language Day

The Free Belarus Museum, the National Anti-Crisis Management and the Office of the United Transitional Cabinet for National Revival invite Belarusians from all corners of the world to take part in a nationwide online dictation on 21 February, Mother Language Day.

This year the dictation is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People's Writer of Belarus Vasil Bykov, who believed that the fate of the Belarusian language is inextricably linked to the independence of our country: "if Belarus is independent, there will be everything. Including the language and culture".

And today, when Belarusians face especially acute questions of defense of independence and, therefore, preservation of the language, we should by no means forget about these wise words of our famous writer.

The dictation will be read by Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management. Alina Koushyk, Representative for national revival of the Cabinet, will give an introductory speech to the dictation.

Join the broadcast on the YouTube channels of BELSAT LIFE and Pavel Latushka on 21 February at 19:00 Minsk time (Vilnius - 18:00; Warsaw - 17:00).

Long live our beautiful language and independent Belarus!
