A meeting was held between the Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Head of the NAM Pavel Latushka, the Speaker of the Coordination Council and Deputy Head of the NAM Artsiom Brukhan, and the Ambassador of Canada to Poland, Catherine Godin.

The following topics were discussed:

  • expanding cooperation within the framework of the OSCE, including with the Canadian mission to the OSCE in Vienna. The parties agreed to organize working meetings with representatives of Canada’s mission to the OSCE;

  • the possibility of conducting legal consultations in the near future with Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among other topics.

The Canadian side was informed about the work being carried out to collect evidence as part of the investigation conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court into crimes against humanity committed by Lukashenko and his accomplices against the people of Belarus.

The Canadian Ambassador was presented with proposals to impose Canadian national sanctions against representatives of the Lukashenko regime — propagandists, judges, and a number of defense industry enterprises supporting Russian aggression. The Ambassador noted that the materials would be promptly forwarded to Global Affairs Canada for further consideration.

The Speaker of the Coordination Council, Artsiom Brukhan, informed the Canadian side about preparations for the "New Belarus" conference. The Canadian Ambassador confirmed that a representative of Canada would participate in the conference events as an invited guest.

The Ambassador reaffirmed that Canada’s support for Belarusian democratic forces will continue consistently and purposefully.
