From January 20 to March 1, the Museum of Free Belarus — a project of the People's Anti-Crisis Management — is hosting the exhibition "Entry Point — 123," dedicated to 123 Belarusian political prisoners released on December 13 and forcibly deported by Lukashenka's regime.

The freed prisoners were taken away with their hands tied, in balaclavas and with bags over their heads, without warning. Many were not given back their passports and personal belongings. All they took with them were small suitcases with clothing and the prison minimum: a spoon, soap, a towel, tea bags, warm underwear. Items to which a prisoner's entire permitted world is reduced.

Today these objects are museum exhibits. Their function has changed: they have stopped in their circulation and begun to bear witness.

The "123" exhibition brings together more than 30 artifacts connected to the prison experience of some of the deported political prisoners. These are items from men's and women's colonies (sometimes objects forbidden for use by prisoners), as well as items related to the deportation procedure — a KGB dry ration package, a balaclava, and others.

We invite you to the exhibition to see and comprehend the experience of a large number of Belarusians. We must have a conversation about what happened to us and continues to happen.
