Lukashenko's officials have completely failed to fight the hurricane

Deputy Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management Artsiom Brukhan answered the question on air at Malanka Media about why the authorities in Belarus are so ineffective in the face of sudden natural disasters.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations always has limited resources, so they interact with local authorities (district executive committee, city executive committee). Officials allocate resources to rescuers and create a material base, but only after the "go-ahead from above". They do not know how to make decisions quickly.

Officials in Lukashenko's system are afraid to take responsibility

To make a decision, it is necessary to adopt regulations, decisions of city executive committees, which must be implemented. This is all very difficult for them. It is better to wait for a signal from Minsk. With such a vertical of power, problems arise in critical situations, as happened in the Gomel region on July 13.

While they were waiting for help from above, Lukashenko was drinking champagne

Everything was flooded there, people had no water, trees had fallen, the electricity was out. And the dictator was drinking in the palace with his minister. At this time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations was saving people and needed resources. And resources could be provided by officials who were also waiting for a decision from the capital. This is one of the problems of a system built for one person.

Lukashenko is not ready for anything

No matter how much the self-proclaimed one talked about being ready for war, for everything, he once again proved his lie. The way the authorities reacted to the hurricane shows the real state of affairs in Lukashenko's regime. Which cannot be said about the Belarusians, who once again demonstrated their unity and organization.
