Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet, delegate of the Coordination Council Pavel Latushka, during a conversation with Lithuanian Minister of Internal Affairs Vladislav Kondratovich on the sidelines of the 50th Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, thanked Lithuania for its principled position on the issue of holding representatives of the Lukashenko regime accountable for the commission of crimes against humanity against the Belarusian people.
The Deputy Head of the Cabinet noted that it is precisely thanks to Lithuania's principled position that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court launched an investigation into the Belarusian situation in connection with crimes against humanity being committed by Lukashenko and his accomplices.
During the conversation, Pavel Latushka noted that at his meetings, both as a representative of the Cabinet and as a delegate of the Coordination Council, he consistently raises the question of the importance of this work, emphasises Lithuania's leading role in this process, and advocates for the necessity of other states joining the investigation into the crimes of the Lukashenko regime.
During his stay in Strasbourg, Pavel Latushka is conducting consultations with heads of diplomatic missions and at the Secretariat of the Council of Europe on matters related to holding Lukashenko accountable for crimes against the Belarusian people, aggression against Ukraine, and war crimes connected with the illegal removal of Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to Belarus and their subsequent indoctrination in the ideas of the "Russian world".
