Lukashenko's accountability in EU

The issue of holding Lukashenko accountable will be discussed within the European Union.

On April 8 in Brussels, Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet and Head of the National-Anti-Crisis Management, will deliver a report at a special session of the Working Group on Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This group consists of authorized representatives from the 27 member countries of the European Union. During the session, Latushka will present his perspective on possible ways for holding Lukashenko and his associates accountable for crimes committed against the Belarusian and Ukrainian peoples.

The discussion on these matters at a high political level in the EU is being conducted in accordance with the agreements reached at the meeting of the Belarus-EU Consultative Group, which took place in Brussels in December 2023.

Pavel Latushka will present five possible ways of utilizing international mechanisms to achieve the goal of accountability.

Additionally, Pavel Latushka will hold meetings in Brussels with the leadership of the Belgian Foreign Ministry and the European External Action Service of the European Union.
